Internet Marketing - Avoiding the Lies and Deceptions

When I first got involved in network marketing and MLM programs I was constantly bombarded with the phrase, "you need to have a big enough Why to succeed in this industry". They always showed the multimillion dollar leader of this team and how he had achieved his phenomenal success because he had a big enough "Why".

Then they made the comment that all those who did not succeed like this leader just didn't believe. They didn't have a big enough "why".

For a couple of years I actually believed them and berated myself for not believing. "That must've been the reason for my lack of success", I told myself. But the reality was I did have a big enough why. Providing for my family is (or should be) a big enough why in any company. I don't have to want to provide the entire country of Nigeria with milk and food for the next eight months to qualify as being a big enough "why".

In reality this methodology and thinking is a big lie. You don't need a big enough "why", you need a proper marketing system.

Anyone can succeed with a proper marketing system-Anyone! The sad fact of the matter is that most of these MLM leaders don't teach you a proper marketing system. They may have some special talent or gift for sales or dynamic personality and expect you to imitate them but if that is the case, why do they try to recruit everyone into this industry saying that anybody can do it when average people don't have a clue as to how? They don't have these special sales talents nor have any training in these areas.

But the reality is that average people can succeed with a proper marketing system. They don't have to be a dynamic leader, look like a supermodel, be an author, a doctor or retired lawyer to succeed at MLM. All they need is a marketing system that reaches people looking for their opportunity, program or products.

There doesn't need to be any hype, over exaggeration, annoying or bugging family and friends and thinking that everybody in the world wants their program-they just don't know it yet. These are all lies.

You don't have to have hotel meetings, parties, blasting parking lots with windshield wiper flyers, or looking like a clown in order to get them excited about your fantastic new opportunity. As you know, people run at the slightest whiff of anything closely related to MLM. They've all been offended before. They've all been "Amwayed" to death.

So the next time somebody want you to join their fantastic program promising wealth untold at the push of a button just by sharing your opportunity, ask them what kind of marketing system they want you to use. And if the first sentence in that program promotes the company name and its phenomenal, one-of-a-kind, patented product, head for the door.

Marketing is everything especially in MLM.

Internet Home Business - The Basics Of Getting Started

When I finally decided that the internet was my best opportunity to create a stable source of income for my family I was immediately overwhelmed with all the possible resources to use. Fortunately for me I came across someone at work who had already taken the plunge into internet marketing by creating a website for their fiance and was in the process of maximizing their SEO efforts.

By listening to them and gleaning valuable information from their journey I finally worked up enough nerve to go through the sites I had bookmarked as possible resources. My personal search for an internet home business began by studying everything I could get my hands on regarding "affiliate marketing". Unlike my co-worker I did not have a web site with a product of my own to promote and this seemed like the perfect fit. Here is the summary of my personal journey. I believe it will serve as a great map for others who want to find their own "pot of gold" on the internet landscape.

decide how much you can afford to spend on your internet marketing education over the first 12 months
decide which internet home business model will work best for you; website, blog, affiliate marketing, or online auctions, understand the pro's and cons of each one
after you have selected your internet home business model begin to educate yourself on the most effective methods to develop and promote your business; this is where you begin to invest in yourself, which course work, ebook or software will you need to purchase at this time?
whatever you decide take it seriously - if you treat it like a business then it will respond like a business
once you feel you have a pretty good grasp of this material then look forward and see where you lack confidence or knowledge to take your business to the next level, i.e, creating banners, email autoresponders, writing content, online promotion, etc. Then plan on making your next investment in your continuing education in the internet home business field.
this education process is ongoing, each time you learn something new immediately put it the test, this is the only way you'll know if you truly have what it takes.
join as many forums as possible that are specific to your business and develop good relationships with members that you feel truly know what their talking about
rinse and repeat

Even if you decide to go with a pre-established business model like that of an MLM business you will need to invest in your education in order to really succeed with your internet home business. I have my own personal internet marketing "coaches" that I refer to regularly. I even buy their products as I continue to this day to educate myself. This is the best advice I can give anyone who is considering an internet home business...it has served me well. To your Success!
